Heeling Helpers (Tampa, FL) is made of two young dog lovers who also happen to be people lovers. Our dogs come first in every aspect of our lives. Suzi sought out Basil as an emotional support animal while she was in her last year of college. Basil is excellent with handling anxiety; she can tell exactly when she is needed and is quick to respond with an interrupting cuddle. Suzi saw something extra special in Basil and always wanted Basil to serve a higher purpose in life. Inspired by her brother and grandfather with disabilities, Suzi trained Basil from 8 weeks old to perform a variety of mobility and psychological service dog functions. Her intention was to train more dogs in the future to perform the same functions for other special needs families. For example, Basil can open and close doors on command, heel, bring medicine and water, help pick up dropped items, and apply deep pressure therapy. We have fortunate enough to perform task training with one family from our 2018 litter, and we are hoping to be able to help more families just with each litter. Suzi has also performed heeling training with other breeds for elderly couples in Gainesville, FL. We want to provide healthy, helpful, and loving dogs to families. We are fulfilled by making lives better.
